Cadillac Lyriq 2023-2025: The Parts That Actually Wear Out

The Lyriq 1st Gen ran from 2023-2025 and is the first Ultium Cadillac. After enough of these come across the parts counter you start to see the same short list of components over and over. Here is what owners of this generation actually end up buying, and what to know before you order.

Body and Exterior

The usual tell is a window that drops into the door or moves crookedly. Heat is the accelerant on this one, which is why it shows up faster here than up north.

Common parts in this group: mirrors, door handles, grilles, bumper covers, headlamps.

Worth knowing: Mirrors carry cameras, heaters, turn signals, blind zone modules and puddle lamps, and the wiring connector varies by content level.

Exhaust and Emissions

The usual tell is a check engine light that appears after fueling and clears itself. This is one of the items where a towing or work truck and a commuter diverge sharply.

Common parts in this group: catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, DEF injectors, diesel particulate filters, EVAP purge valves.

Worth knowing: Catalytic converters are emissions-certified parts, and substrate loading is what the downstream oxygen sensor is judging.

Filters and Fluids

The usual tell is an oil life monitor that reaches zero faster than it used to. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: oil filters, air filters, cabin air filters, fuel filters, transmission filters.

Worth knowing: Air filter media density affects the mass airflow reading, which is a fueling input.

Electrical and Charging

The usual tell is warning lights that appear in clusters and then clear themselves. This is one of the items where a towing or work truck and a commuter diverge sharply.

Common parts in this group: batteries, battery cables, alternators, starters, body control modules.

Worth knowing: Many recent GM vehicles need the new battery registered to the module or the charging system will keep undercharging it.

Brakes

The usual tell is a pedal that sits lower than it used to, or sinks slowly at a stoplight. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake hoses, wheel speed sensors.

Worth knowing: GM friction material is matched to the specific rotor metallurgy and the ABS calibration on your vehicle.

Suspension

The usual tell is uneven or feathered tire wear on the inside or outside shoulder. This is one of the items where a towing or work truck and a commuter diverge sharply.

Common parts in this group: shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links.

Worth knowing: Ball joint and control arm geometry sets your alignment range, and an out-of-spec part can make a correct alignment impossible.

Before You Order

Have the VIN ready. On a Lyriq the same model year can carry two or three different engines and several suspension packages.
Check the SPID label in the glove box or console for your RPO codes.
Front and rear parts are rarely the same number, even when they look identical.
