Most suspension problems announce themselves well before they strand anybody. On a 2020-2025 CT5, these are the ones worth acting on.
1. Uneven or feathered tire wear on the inside or outside shoulder
By the time this is obvious you are generally replacing more than one part. Start by looking at control arms.
2. A ride height that sits lower on one corner
By the time this is obvious you are generally replacing more than one part. Start by looking at ball joints.
3. The nose diving noticeably further under braking than it did new
This one is usually early, which is good news, because it is cheap to fix early. Start by looking at ball joints.
4. The body keeps moving after you cross a dip instead of settling once
This is the symptom people put off longest and regret most. Start by looking at shocks.
What to Do Next
Shocks and struts are wear items. Plan on inspection at 50,000 miles and replacement somewhere between 60,000 and 100,000 depending on road quality and load.
Trim and package content matters enormously here. Off-road packages, air ride and adaptive or magnetic damping all use different parts than the base vehicle wearing the same model name.
We are a factory GM dealer, not a reseller, so what you order is the same part the service drive installs. Browse our Cadillac OEM parts catalog or search for CT5 shocks.
