Common Chevrolet Colorado Replacement Parts, 2023-2025

Common Chevrolet Colorado Replacement Parts, 2023-2025 - GM Parts Club

The Colorado 3rd Gen ran from 2023-2025 and is all 2.7L turbo, all crew cab. After enough of these come across the parts counter you start to see the same short list of components over and over. Here is what owners of this generation actually end up buying, and what to know before you order.

Drivetrain and Transfer Case

The usual tell is a hum that changes with steering input, which usually points at a wheel bearing. Catch it early and it is a parts bill. Ignore it and it becomes a parts and labor bill.

Common parts in this group: transfer case encoder motors, front differential actuators, u-joints, CV axles, driveshaft center bearings.

Worth knowing: Transfer case shift motors and encoders are matched to the specific case, and the module reads their position directly.

Electrical and Charging

The usual tell is a battery that tests fine at the counter but fails after sitting three days. This is one of the items where a towing or work truck and a commuter diverge sharply.

Common parts in this group: batteries, battery cables, alternators, starters, body control modules.

Worth knowing: GM’s battery management system is calibrated to a specific battery chemistry, group size and reserve capacity.

Filters and Fluids

The usual tell is an oil life monitor that reaches zero faster than it used to. The number in the manual assumes conditions most people in North Texas do not have.

Common parts in this group: oil filters, air filters, cabin air filters, fuel filters, transmission filters.

Worth knowing: Dexos1 and dexos2 licensing exists because GM engines have specific requirements, and warranty language references it directly.

Ignition and Engine Management

The usual tell is fuel economy that drifts down a mile or two per gallon over a few months. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: spark plugs, ignition coils, camshaft position sensors, crankshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors.

Worth knowing: Coil primary resistance affects dwell, and the ECM is calibrated for the factory value.

Heating and Air Conditioning

The usual tell is a clicking or ticking behind the dash when you change temperature. Heat is the accelerant on this one, which is why it shows up faster here than up north.

Common parts in this group: cabin air filters, blower motors, blower motor resistors, A/C compressors, condensers.

Worth knowing: R-1234yf systems on newer GM vehicles use different oils and fittings than older R-134a systems.

Suspension

The usual tell is a ride height that sits lower on one corner. Heat is the accelerant on this one, which is why it shows up faster here than up north.

Common parts in this group: shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links.

Worth knowing: Vehicles with adaptive or air suspension talk to the module, and non-OEM parts often will not report correctly.

Before You Order

  • Have the VIN ready. On a Colorado the same model year can carry two or three different engines and several suspension packages.
  • Check the SPID label in the glove box or console for your RPO codes.
  • Front and rear parts are rarely the same number, even when they look identical.
  • If the part is electrical, confirm the fit before you order. Electrical parts are not returnable at any GM dealer, including us.

Ordering is easiest if you have the VIN in front of you. Head to our Chevrolet OEM parts catalog to shop by vehicle, or search for Colorado parts to go straight to a part.
