Common Cadillac CT5 Replacement Parts, 2020-2024

Common Cadillac CT5 Replacement Parts, 2020-2024 - GM Parts Club

The CT5 1st Gen ran from 2020-2024 and is midsize Alpha sedan, including Blackwing. After enough of these come across the parts counter you start to see the same short list of components over and over. Here is what owners of this generation actually end up buying, and what to know before you order.

Glass and Wipers

The usual tell is a rain sensing system that triggers late or not at all. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: wiper blades, wiper transmissions, wiper motors, washer pumps, rain sensors.

Worth knowing: Vehicles with rain sensing or heated wiper park use different assemblies.

Ignition and Engine Management

The usual tell is a rough idle that smooths out above 2,000 rpm. Worth checking at the same time you rotate tires, since the wheel is already off.

Common parts in this group: spark plugs, ignition coils, camshaft position sensors, crankshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors.

Worth knowing: Plug gap, heat range and electrode material are specified per engine, and GM’s Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management engines are sensitive to it.

Brakes

The usual tell is uneven pad thickness side to side when you pull a wheel. The number in the manual assumes conditions most people in North Texas do not have.

Common parts in this group: brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake hoses, wheel speed sensors.

Worth knowing: GM friction material is matched to the specific rotor metallurgy and the ABS calibration on your vehicle.

Exhaust and Emissions

The usual tell is a check engine light that appears after fueling and clears itself. Catch it early and it is a parts bill. Ignore it and it becomes a parts and labor bill.

Common parts in this group: catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, DEF injectors, diesel particulate filters, EVAP purge valves.

Worth knowing: EVAP components are leak-rate sensitive, and the monitor is comparing against a factory reference.

Sensors, Cameras and Driver Assistance

The usual tell is a backup camera image that flickers, goes blue, or shows lines. Mileage is a rough guide here. Load, heat and road surface matter more.

Common parts in this group: park assist sensors, backup cameras, blind zone modules, front camera modules, radar sensors.

Worth knowing: Camera and radar aim is a service procedure, not a bolt-on.

Suspension

The usual tell is the nose diving noticeably further under braking than it did new. Mileage is a rough guide here. Load, heat and road surface matter more.

Common parts in this group: shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links.

Worth knowing: GM valving is tuned to the specific spring rate and curb weight of your trim, and a generic replacement changes the whole balance.

Before You Order

  • Have the VIN ready. On a CT5 the same model year can carry two or three different engines and several suspension packages.
  • Check the SPID label in the glove box or console for your RPO codes.
  • Front and rear parts are rarely the same number, even when they look identical.
  • If the part is electrical, confirm the fit before you order. Electrical parts are not returnable at any GM dealer, including us.

Ordering is easiest if you have the VIN in front of you. Head to our Cadillac OEM parts catalog to shop by vehicle, or search for CT5 parts to go straight to a part.
