Common Buick Encore GX Replacement Parts, 2020-2023

Common Buick Encore GX Replacement Parts, 2020-2023 - GM Parts Club

The Encore GX 1st Gen ran from 2020-2023 and is 1.2L and 1.3L turbo three-cylinder. After enough of these come across the parts counter you start to see the same short list of components over and over. Here is what owners of this generation actually end up buying, and what to know before you order.

Body and Exterior

The usual tell is a door handle that pulls with no resistance. Catch it early and it is a parts bill. Ignore it and it becomes a parts and labor bill.

Common parts in this group: mirrors, door handles, grilles, bumper covers, headlamps.

Worth knowing: Body panels and lamps have to match the vehicle’s specific mounting points and, on lamps, the exact photometric pattern that was certified.

Sensors, Cameras and Driver Assistance

The usual tell is a lane keep or forward collision system that reports as unavailable after a windshield replacement. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: park assist sensors, backup cameras, blind zone modules, front camera modules, radar sensors.

Worth knowing: Camera and radar aim is a service procedure, not a bolt-on.

Drivetrain and Transfer Case

The usual tell is vibration that appears above 55 mph and grows with speed. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: transfer case encoder motors, front differential actuators, u-joints, CV axles, driveshaft center bearings.

Worth knowing: Wheel bearings on modern GM trucks carry the wheel speed sensor in the same assembly, and sensor tolerance affects ABS and stability control.

Glass and Wipers

The usual tell is chattering or streaking that returns within a week of new blades. Worth checking at the same time you rotate tires, since the wheel is already off.

Common parts in this group: wiper blades, wiper transmissions, wiper motors, washer pumps, rain sensors.

Worth knowing: Windshields with acoustic interlayer, HUD or camera brackets are not interchangeable with base glass.

Electrical and Charging

The usual tell is the auto stop-start feature quietly deactivating itself. The number in the manual assumes conditions most people in North Texas do not have.

Common parts in this group: batteries, battery cables, alternators, starters, body control modules.

Worth knowing: GM’s battery management system is calibrated to a specific battery chemistry, group size and reserve capacity.

Ignition and Engine Management

The usual tell is a misfire code that follows the coil when you swap it to another cylinder. The number in the manual assumes conditions most people in North Texas do not have.

Common parts in this group: spark plugs, ignition coils, camshaft position sensors, crankshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors.

Worth knowing: Coil primary resistance affects dwell, and the ECM is calibrated for the factory value.

Before You Order

  • Have the VIN ready. On a Encore GX the same model year can carry two or three different engines and several suspension packages.
  • Check the SPID label in the glove box or console for your RPO codes.
  • Front and rear parts are rarely the same number, even when they look identical.
  • If the part is electrical, confirm the fit before you order. Electrical parts are not returnable at any GM dealer, including us.

Ordering is easiest if you have the VIN in front of you. Head to our Buick OEM parts catalog to shop by vehicle, or search for Encore GX parts to go straight to a part.
