The heating and air conditioning system on the 2018-2023 Enclave is not complicated, but it is easy to spend money in the wrong place on it. This is the version we give people at the counter.

What You Will Notice First

A musty smell for the first thirty seconds after startup
Air that is cold at highway speed and warm at a stoplight
Vents that will not switch from defrost to floor

Why the Factory Part Matters Here

Blend door actuators are calibrated position devices, and the module learns their travel; generic units frequently will not calibrate.
Condenser and evaporator core dimensions are specific, and a near-fit leaks at the seal.
R-1234yf systems on newer GM vehicles use different oils and fittings than older R-134a systems.

Service Interval

Cabin air filter every 12,000 to 15,000 miles, or annually. In North Texas with construction dust and cedar season, annually is the honest number.

Ordering Notes

Rear climate content, heated and cooled seats, and tri-zone systems all change the parts list. On the Enclave specifically, trim and package content is the thing that trips people up.
