2022-2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Parts Guide: What Owners Replace First

The Bolt EUV 1st Gen ran from 2022-2023 and is the taller Bolt, first non-Cadillac Super Cruise. After enough of these come across the parts counter you start to see the same short list of components over and over. Here is what owners of this generation actually end up buying, and what to know before you order.

Suspension

The usual tell is a clunk over expansion joints that you feel in the floor more than you hear. The number in the manual assumes conditions most people in North Texas do not have.

Common parts in this group: shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links.

Worth knowing: Vehicles with adaptive or air suspension talk to the module, and non-OEM parts often will not report correctly.

Ignition and Engine Management

The usual tell is a misfire code that follows the coil when you swap it to another cylinder. Owners who do mostly short trips see this sooner than the mileage suggests.

Common parts in this group: spark plugs, ignition coils, camshaft position sensors, crankshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors.

Worth knowing: Coil primary resistance affects dwell, and the ECM is calibrated for the factory value.

Interior

The usual tell is carpet that stays damp under a worn factory mat. Worth checking at the same time you rotate tires, since the wheel is already off.

Common parts in this group: floor liners, carpet floor mats, console lids, seat covers, shift knobs.

Worth knowing: GM Accessories liners are laser-measured to the specific floor pan and retain the factory anchor posts, which is a safety item.

Cooling System

The usual tell is crusty orange residue around a hose clamp or the surge tank seam. Heat is the accelerant on this one, which is why it shows up faster here than up north.

Common parts in this group: radiators, water pumps, thermostats, coolant hoses, cooling fans.

Worth knowing: Surge tanks and caps are pressure-rated to the specific system, and a wrong cap is a slow way to cook a head gasket.

Body and Exterior

The usual tell is a hazy or yellowed headlamp lens that no longer projects a sharp cutoff. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: mirrors, door handles, grilles, bumper covers, headlamps.

Worth knowing: Mirrors carry cameras, heaters, turn signals, blind zone modules and puddle lamps, and the wiring connector varies by content level.

Heating and Air Conditioning

The usual tell is air that only blows on the highest fan setting. Mileage is a rough guide here. Load, heat and road surface matter more.

Common parts in this group: cabin air filters, blower motors, blower motor resistors, A/C compressors, condensers.

Worth knowing: Condenser and evaporator core dimensions are specific, and a near-fit leaks at the seal.

Before You Order

Have the VIN ready. On a Bolt EUV the same model year can carry two or three different engines and several suspension packages.
Check the SPID label in the glove box or console for your RPO codes.
Front and rear parts are rarely the same number, even when they look identical.
If the part is electrical, confirm the fit before you order. Electrical parts are not returnable at any GM dealer, including us.
