Summer A/C Readiness for Your 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Summer A/C Readiness for Your 2019-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - GM Parts Club

What to check before the first hundred degree week. Applied to a 2019-2026 Silverado 1500, here is what that looks like.

Filters and Fluids

Watch for a slight hesitation on hard acceleration with a dirty air filter. Follow the oil life monitor rather than a fixed mileage. Engine air filter every 30,000 to 45,000 miles. Transmission service intervals vary widely by transmission and by whether you tow.

Heating and Air Conditioning

Watch for air that only blows on the highest fan setting. Cabin air filter every 12,000 to 15,000 miles, or annually. In North Texas with construction dust and cedar season, annually is the honest number.

Glass and Wipers

Watch for chattering or streaking that returns within a week of new blades. Blades every six to twelve months. In North Texas, summer heat kills blades faster than winter does.

Interior

Watch for a sun visor that will not stay up. Not scheduled. Replace on wear.

The Short Version

  • Oil filters: Engine size and emissions equipment change the filter, and diesel filter kits in particular are not interchangeable across model years.
  • Cabin air filters: Rear climate content, heated and cooled seats, and tri-zone systems all change the parts list.
  • Wiper blades: Driver and passenger blades are frequently different lengths on the same vehicle.
  • Floor liners: Interior color code matters as much as the model year. It is on the SPID label in the glove box or console.
