Common Buick LaCrosse Replacement Parts, 2017-2019

Common Buick LaCrosse Replacement Parts, 2017-2019 - GM Parts Club

The LaCrosse 3rd Gen ran from 2017-2019 and is the last full-size Buick sedan. After enough of these come across the parts counter you start to see the same short list of components over and over. Here is what owners of this generation actually end up buying, and what to know before you order.

Suspension

The usual tell is a clunk over expansion joints that you feel in the floor more than you hear. Worth checking at the same time you rotate tires, since the wheel is already off.

Common parts in this group: shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links.

Worth knowing: Ball joint and control arm geometry sets your alignment range, and an out-of-spec part can make a correct alignment impossible.

Heating and Air Conditioning

The usual tell is air that is cold at highway speed and warm at a stoplight. How the vehicle gets used moves this interval more than the odometer does.

Common parts in this group: cabin air filters, blower motors, blower motor resistors, A/C compressors, condensers.

Worth knowing: Condenser and evaporator core dimensions are specific, and a near-fit leaks at the seal.

Filters and Fluids

The usual tell is an oil life monitor that reaches zero faster than it used to. Owners who do mostly short trips see this sooner than the mileage suggests.

Common parts in this group: oil filters, air filters, cabin air filters, fuel filters, transmission filters.

Worth knowing: GM oil filters are built to a specific bypass pressure and anti-drainback valve spec, which matters most on cold starts.

Sensors, Cameras and Driver Assistance

The usual tell is a TPMS light that will not clear after a tire rotation. Owners who do mostly short trips see this sooner than the mileage suggests.

Common parts in this group: park assist sensors, backup cameras, blind zone modules, front camera modules, radar sensors.

Worth knowing: TPMS sensors have to match the protocol and frequency the receiver expects.

Body and Exterior

The usual tell is a window that drops into the door or moves crookedly. The number in the manual assumes conditions most people in North Texas do not have.

Common parts in this group: mirrors, door handles, grilles, bumper covers, headlamps.

Worth knowing: Mirrors carry cameras, heaters, turn signals, blind zone modules and puddle lamps, and the wiring connector varies by content level.

Brakes

The usual tell is a grinding noise, which means the friction material is already gone. Catch it early and it is a parts bill. Ignore it and it becomes a parts and labor bill.

Common parts in this group: brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake hoses, wheel speed sensors.

Worth knowing: Pad compound changes brake torque, and brake torque is one of the inputs the stability control system assumes it knows.

Before You Order

  • Have the VIN ready. On a LaCrosse the same model year can carry two or three different engines and several suspension packages.
  • Check the SPID label in the glove box or console for your RPO codes.
  • Front and rear parts are rarely the same number, even when they look identical.
  • If the part is electrical, confirm the fit before you order. Electrical parts are not returnable at any GM dealer, including us.

We are a factory GM dealer, not a reseller, so what you order is the same part the service drive installs. Browse our Buick OEM parts catalog or search for LaCrosse parts.
