Bed and Cargo Management for Your 2019-2025 Chevrolet Blazer

Bed and Cargo Management for Your 2019-2025 Chevrolet Blazer - GM Parts Club

Keeping a loaded bed under control in summer heat. Applied to a 2019-2025 Blazer, here is what that looks like.

Glass and Wipers

Watch for chattering or streaking that returns within a week of new blades. Blades every six to twelve months. In North Texas, summer heat kills blades faster than winter does.

Cooling System

Watch for crusty orange residue around a hose clamp or the surge tank seam. GM’s long-life coolant is generally rated for 5 years or 150,000 miles on the first fill and 5 years or 100,000 miles after that. Hoses and the surge tank should be inspected annually once past 80,000 miles.

Electrical and Charging

Watch for a battery that tests fine at the counter but fails after sitting three days. Batteries in Texas heat routinely give up between three and five years. Test annually after year three, before the first cold snap.

Ignition and Engine Management

Watch for fuel economy that drifts down a mile or two per gallon over a few months. Iridium plugs on most modern GM engines are a 90,000 to 100,000 mile item. Coils are replaced on failure, not on a schedule.

The Short Version

  • Wiper blades: Driver and passenger blades are frequently different lengths on the same vehicle.
  • Radiators: Engine, tow package and rear-A/C content all change the radiator and hose part numbers. Have the VIN ready.
  • Batteries: Vehicles with stop-start often use two batteries. Confirm which one you are replacing before ordering.
  • Spark plugs: The same nameplate can have three different engines in one model year. VIN is the only reliable way to get the right plug.

If you are not sure which version fits your build, send us the VIN and we will confirm before anything ships. Shop our Chevrolet OEM parts catalog or search for Blazer parts.
