GM Parts Club
The body and exterior system on the 2020-2025 Sierra 2500HD is not complicated, but it is easy to spend money in the wrong place on it. This is the version we give people at the counter.
What You Will Notice First
- A door handle that pulls with no resistance
- A hazy or yellowed headlamp lens that no longer projects a sharp cutoff
- A window that drops into the door or moves crookedly
- A mirror that shakes at highway speed after a folding motor fails
None of these are emergencies on day one. All of them get more expensive if you sit on them.
The Parts Involved
- Mirrors.
- Door handles.
- Grilles.
- Bumper covers.
- Headlamps.
- Tail lamps.
- Window regulators.
- Emblems.
- Moldings.
Why the Factory Part Matters Here
- Body panels and lamps have to match the vehicle’s specific mounting points and, on lamps, the exact photometric pattern that was certified.
- Mirrors carry cameras, heaters, turn signals, blind zone modules and puddle lamps, and the wiring connector varies by content level.
- Factory paint codes only work if the substrate and primer are the same.
Service Interval
Not a scheduled item. These are damage and failure replacements.
Ordering Notes
Trim level changes almost every exterior part. Take a photo of the connector on the part you are replacing before you order. On the Sierra 2500HD specifically, trim and package content is the thing that trips people up.
Everything here is available as a genuine GM part through our GMC OEM parts catalog. If you would rather search directly, search for mirrors.
