Most Replaced Parts on the 5th Gen Cadillac Escalade (2021-2024)

Most Replaced Parts on the 5th Gen Cadillac Escalade (2021-2024) - GM Parts Club

The Escalade 5th Gen ran from 2021-2024 and is IRS, curved OLED, available Super Cruise. After enough of these come across the parts counter you start to see the same short list of components over and over. Here is what owners of this generation actually end up buying, and what to know before you order.

Exhaust and Emissions

The usual tell is an exhaust tick on cold start that quiets as the manifold expands. Worth checking at the same time you rotate tires, since the wheel is already off.

Common parts in this group: catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, DEF injectors, diesel particulate filters, EVAP purge valves.

Worth knowing: Diesel aftertreatment parts are tightly integrated with the calibration.

Suspension

The usual tell is a ride height that sits lower on one corner. Worth checking at the same time you rotate tires, since the wheel is already off.

Common parts in this group: shocks, struts, control arms, ball joints, sway bar links.

Worth knowing: GM valving is tuned to the specific spring rate and curb weight of your trim, and a generic replacement changes the whole balance.

Heating and Air Conditioning

The usual tell is air that only blows on the highest fan setting. This is one of the items where a towing or work truck and a commuter diverge sharply.

Common parts in this group: cabin air filters, blower motors, blower motor resistors, A/C compressors, condensers.

Worth knowing: R-1234yf systems on newer GM vehicles use different oils and fittings than older R-134a systems.

Brakes

The usual tell is a grinding noise, which means the friction material is already gone. Owners who do mostly short trips see this sooner than the mileage suggests.

Common parts in this group: brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers, brake hoses, wheel speed sensors.

Worth knowing: Pad compound changes brake torque, and brake torque is one of the inputs the stability control system assumes it knows.

Interior

The usual tell is a console lid hinge that has cracked at the pivot. This is one of the items where a towing or work truck and a commuter diverge sharply.

Common parts in this group: floor liners, carpet floor mats, console lids, seat covers, shift knobs.

Worth knowing: GM Accessories liners are laser-measured to the specific floor pan and retain the factory anchor posts, which is a safety item.

Ignition and Engine Management

The usual tell is a check engine light that flashes under load, which means raw fuel is going into the converter. Heat is the accelerant on this one, which is why it shows up faster here than up north.

Common parts in this group: spark plugs, ignition coils, camshaft position sensors, crankshaft position sensors, oxygen sensors.

Worth knowing: Plug gap, heat range and electrode material are specified per engine, and GM’s Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management engines are sensitive to it.

Before You Order

  • Have the VIN ready. On a Escalade the same model year can carry two or three different engines and several suspension packages.
  • Check the SPID label in the glove box or console for your RPO codes.
  • Front and rear parts are rarely the same number, even when they look identical.
  • If the part is electrical, confirm the fit before you order. Electrical parts are not returnable at any GM dealer, including us.

We have been selling GM parts online since 2009 and out of the Dallas store since 1956. Start with our Cadillac OEM parts catalog, or search for Escalade parts.
