The glass and wipers system on the 2013-2019 XTS is not complicated, but it is easy to spend money in the wrong place on it. This is the version we give people at the counter.
What You Will Notice First
- A washer pump you can hear running with nothing coming out
- Chattering or streaking that returns within a week of new blades
- A rain sensing system that triggers late or not at all
- Wipers that park in the wrong position
None of these are emergencies on day one. All of them get more expensive if you sit on them.

Why the Factory Part Matters Here
- GM wiper arms and blades are matched to the specific windshield curvature, and length is not the only variable.
- Vehicles with rain sensing or heated wiper park use different assemblies.
- Windshields with acoustic interlayer, HUD or camera brackets are not interchangeable with base glass.
Service Interval
Blades every six to twelve months. In North Texas, summer heat kills blades faster than winter does.
Ordering Notes
Driver and passenger blades are frequently different lengths on the same vehicle. On the XTS specifically, trim and package content is the thing that trips people up.
