What You Will Notice First
- A window that drops into the door or moves crookedly
- A mirror that shakes at highway speed after a folding motor fails
- A door handle that pulls with no resistance
- A hazy or yellowed headlamp lens that no longer projects a sharp cutoff
None of these are emergencies on day one. All of them get more expensive if you sit on them.

Why the Factory Part Matters Here
- Body panels and lamps have to match the vehicle’s specific mounting points and, on lamps, the exact photometric pattern that was certified.
- Mirrors carry cameras, heaters, turn signals, blind zone modules and puddle lamps, and the wiring connector varies by content level.
- Factory paint codes only work if the substrate and primer are the same.
Service Interval
Not a scheduled item. These are damage and failure replacements.
Ordering Notes
Trim level changes almost every exterior part. Take a photo of the connector on the part you are replacing before you order. On the LaCrosse specifically, trim and package content is the thing that trips people up.
