GM Parts Club
The sensors, cameras and driver assistance system on the 2020-2026 Sierra 2500HD is not complicated, but it is easy to spend money in the wrong place on it. This is the version we give people at the counter.
What You Will Notice First
- A backup camera image that flickers, goes blue, or shows lines
- A park assist system that disables itself in cold weather and comes back warm
- A TPMS light that will not clear after a tire rotation
- A lane keep or forward collision system that reports as unavailable after a windshield replacement
None of these are emergencies on day one. All of them get more expensive if you sit on them.
The Parts Involved
- Park assist sensors.
- Backup cameras.
- Blind zone modules.
- Front camera modules.
- Radar sensors.
- TPMS sensors.
Why the Factory Part Matters Here
- These are calibrated devices, and the calibration lives in the module that expects a specific sensor.
- Camera and radar aim is a service procedure, not a bolt-on.
- TPMS sensors have to match the protocol and frequency the receiver expects.
Service Interval
TPMS sensor batteries typically last seven to ten years and are commonly replaced as a set during a tire change.
Ordering Notes
Painted park assist sensors are ordered in primer and painted to your code. Confirm your paint code before ordering. On the Sierra 2500HD specifically, trim and package content is the thing that trips people up.
